MOUNTAINS, CULTURE & WINE IN GEORGIA, 4-days

During this short break tour in Georgia, we will visit villages of the Greater Caucasus, enjoy beautiful nature, and learn the most important Georgian history facts. In Kakheti, we'll learn about ancient traditions of winemaking, and visit charming monasteries. 

TOUR DETAILS

Day 1 Leave starting airport/city towards Stepansminda. On our way, we'll stop at Ananuri fortress and a Friendship monument with a beautiful mountain panorama. In the evening check in to a hotel in Stepansminda.

Day 2 After breakfast we take a car to Gergeti Trinity church at 2170 m., on our way back we'll stop at the beautiful Gveleti waterfall. We'll continue our trip to the Ancient capital Mtskheta and the 4th century. Jvari church with the famous black and white Aragvi river panorama. In the evening it's possible to take a bath in Tbilisi sulfur baths. Check in to a hotel in Tbilisi. 

Day 3 In the morning we'll leave for the Kakheti wine region via the picturesque Gombori pass road, we'll stop in Telavi to enjoy views of Alazani valley, continue to Tsinandali palace and spectacular wine tunnel, which holds 25.000 wine bottles. We ll taste various wines of the region and in the evening well arrive to Sighnaghi town. Possibility to visit Bodbe monastery. Check in hotel in Sighnaghi. 

Day 4 On this day we ll go to explore a the monastery cave complex David Gareji on the Azerbaijan border, we ll enjoy views of the colorful Gareji desert, we ll have to walk approx 2km. on an easy route. After lunch transfer to Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi.
